Run, Jump, Lift, Puke, Repeat.

I started Crossfit about a month ago and boy was I in for a surprise.
Crossfit is defiantly not your typical workout, it is a workout on steroids.

My friend Jen has been doing Crossfit for about 3 months and invited me to a class to give it a try. I nearly puked and passed out that first class but I was hooked. We have class 3 days a week and for the first 2 weeks I could barely walk. Everytime I would try to flex my quads they would start to get hard then go flaccid. I had a hard time even sitting down my legs would give out and I would fall rather than sit, it was really rather pathetic.

I you have never heard of Crossfit you're not alone before Jen introduced me to it I could have never imagined people actually punished their bodies in this manner. This is the best definition of Crossfit.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

The workouts are crazy I remember my first day I walked in and stretched out with Jen and she showed me what we had to do on the white board so when Bruce ( our trainer) told us to go we took off.
After we completed what was written I was so worn out I told Jen that it was a crazy workout and I was exhausted. I'll never forget the smirk she gave me when she told me that we had only done the warm up!!!!!
I really wanted to slap her for getting me into that I mean really what sane person runs 400 meters does 20 push up, 20 pull ups, 20 squats and then runs another 200 meters for a warm up.

I honestly thought our trainer was possessed by some evil entity, why else would a person come up with such heinous tortures. Despite all this I am hooked I love it. Crossfit has become my drug of choice. I have lost about 14 pounds and 2 inches from my waist, hips, arms, and thighs. I still have a long way to go and I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see our workout. But as one of my favorite Crossfit quotes says I fear no man, but I fear my workout. If I don't fear my workout then it isn't hard enough.

Infanticide, sometime I can understand it.

Ok so I could never really hurt my children, but man I really thought they were gonna drive me nuts this weekend.
Children are not suppose to be trapped indoors for so many hours, they turn in to rabid animals and start to turn on each other and their mother.

My kids are outside kids, we live in the country and they have free reign of ten acres. They can go any where they want as long as they stay on our land. When you suddenly you take away all access to the outdoors they go crazy indoors which makes me go crazy.
They have been home with just me since Thursday, Leo has been going to work at 7 am and getting home around 11pm. So this leaves me with three stir crazed kids ALONE.

Thursday, I let the kids go play in the snow and they made a huge mess coming in and out so after about 30 minutes of this I told them no more outside. My mistake, they still had a LOT of energy left.

Friday, I again let the kids outside and again was left with a mess of wet clothes and a wet and muddy entry way so around noon it was inside only. My house has great acoustics, great for music awful when you have 3 rambunctious children.

Saturday, by this time the snow has really left a mess. I loaded the kids in the car and ventured out to the grocery store. This is not something I like to do on the weekend and defiantly something I try to avoid when I have all my kids alone. Kroger was packed and Trais kept acting like a clown. I was so stressed by the time we left I had a massive headache.

Sunday, Valentine's Day I was awaken at 7:30 by my three valentines lined up at the foot of the bed shouting HAPPY VALENTIMES DAY! I sat straight up in bed and thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. After I finally realized there was no fire or intruder I noticed my babies had all made cards for me . After lots of hugs and kisses I got cleaned up and started breakfast and waited for Mimi to come deliver her valentines for the kids. While waiting I got a call from Jen, she was going through the same misery that I was with trying to entertain her 4 kids stuck in a house. After much thought on what to do with 7 kids age ranging from 12 to 2 we came up with the local natatorium.

This was honestly a life saver, I was so stressed from all the fighting and arguing that all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball in a dark place and cry.
We met the Phillips clan in Denton and Jen and I got to enjoy the company of another adult and the sounds of our children enjoying themselves NOT fighting.

After spending several hours in the pool we met back up at Jen's house for some Mickey D's and to let the kids play just a little while longer. I think this was more for the moms than it was for the kids :) . At about 7: 30 we headed home, my kids were in bed asleep my 8 o'clock. I was just as exhausted and was asleep by 10:30, thats the earliest I have gone to sleep with out the help of a sleep aide in about 3 months.

Our snow days and the resulting mess.

The kids went wild!

I love this picture at dusk.
It would have been much better if we would park in
the driveway instead of the circle :)

With everything white the property seems to stretch on forever.

This is what all that beautiful snow left us.

We have to wear rubber boots just to get to the car.
The mud is about three inches deep, it's awful.

I wonder if I can order the body along with the swim suit from Victoria's Secret?

So this past summer I lost a little over 30 lbs and I was super pumped about it. I had to buy all new clothes and swimsuits and even new bras and panties (30 lbs comes off in some of the most peculiar places) fast ward to today. I have put on about 20 of those 30 lbs it really makes me wanna cry how could I have gained that much weight back. Well first of all the Holidays I love to eat during the holidays and when you go from allowing yourself 1000 to 1500 calories a day to whatever you can shovel in tends to put the weight on you. But also I was pregnant, Leo and I decided that we wanted another baby and we wanted him or her born this summer. So we began trying at the end of November, right after my 30th birthday. We found out baby #4 was on the way December 16. Naturally any thought of getting back to my low cal lifestyle was out the window but really who cares if your skinny when your pregnant. At our first doctors appointment we found out that a miscarriage was immanent. We were devastated I think I sat in the room a good 20 minutes and cried, then I cried the whole way home and then again that night. After a lot of praying and asking why I actually came to terms with the whole thing as awful and heartbreaking as it was. I know that God will not give you anything you can not handle. I have to go by what the doctor say when they told it most likely was a chromosomal defect that happens to a lot of women but they miscarry before they know they are pregnant, but my body carried until I was 10 weeks. We are going to try again but not until October, we want the kids birthdays spread out through the year.
On a lighter note my dietician has me back to my low cal lifestyle. I hoping to be back to where I was by May and to have lost another 10 lbs by June. I actually bought a really cute swim suit at the end of the season last year in anticipation of this year. A very sad thing to do if you falter like I did because trust me I don't even wanna see my self in it at this point. Wish me luck guys because in July I am wearing it to the lake in either celebration or sel
f flagellation. Let's hope it's celebration because otherwise it's not gonna be pretty!

The new swim suit really wish the body had come with it.

Ever know you are going to have a bad day before you even open your eyes?

This morning I was awoken to the sounds of my child starting to get sick. Not a sound any mother likes to hear but especially when said child is in bed with you. I jumped out of bed and got her to the bathroom just in time, or so I thought. After I quick shower I was good as new :)
There is nothing worse as a mom than to feel completely helpless when it comes not being able to make all the hurts stop. Thats where I am at this point, she is resting know thank the lord but when she is awake she is curled into a ball and complains that her tummy hurts. The only thing I can do give her Pepto but we all know if you can't keep it down it doesn't help. All I can do is pray that it runs it's course quickly. Just let it be said I HATE VIRUSES !
